"I produced 7 films and they were selected for a total of 11 film festivals and received 7 awards in festivals or film competitions. I could not have accomplished this without Peter’s support."
"Peter's guidance and unwavering support of my creative instincts when I was in high school was absolutely invaluable. It was his willingness to allow me to freely express myself that gave me the bravery to further explore my voice as a filmmaker in the professional world."
Peter Tamaribuchi is a filmmaker and teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. He is committed to helping young filmmakers turn their ideas into real festival-ready films. He has mentored more than 190 students, and every year, around 90% of them get their work into film festivals, with some going on to top film schools like NYU and Chapman and building their own careers. Drawing on graduate degrees from Boston University and UCLA and award-winning creative work, Peter’s classes focus on hands-on production, smart festival strategy, and building the confidence to share your voice with the world.
Roughly 9 out of 10 of our student projects have gone on to festival acceptances, with several featured at the largest high school film festivals in the world. Graduates of this program have been admitted to competitive film schools—including NYU and Chapman—demonstrating the strength of their work and the effectiveness of our approach.
It’s a great fit if:
You’re a high school or college student or beginner filmmaker who loves film but has never taken a project all the way to a polished festival submission.
You’ve made short videos before, but you don’t yet understand the full process from idea to final cut and festival strategy.
You want clear structure, daily guidance, and a 15‑day roadmap instead of vague tips or endless YouTube rabbit holes.
You’re ready to do the work now and come out the other side with a finished short you’re proud to submit to festivals.
You’ll learn the complete journey of making and submitting a festival‑ready short film, step by step.
By the end of the course, you will:
Develop a compelling story concept that actually works as a short film, not just a cool idea.
Plan your production with a simple, realistic pre‑production process (script, shot list, schedule, basic gear choices).
Shoot your film effectively, using core filmmaking techniques for camera, sound, and performance that make your movie look and feel intentional.
Edit a tight, festival‑ready cut, including picture edit, basic sound design, and simple color work.
Identify smart festivals to submit to and understand how to package your film, write a logline, and follow submission best practices to give yourself the best possible chance of getting selected.
When you pre‑sign up, you will:
Get first access when enrollment opens, before I share it more widely.
Receive early‑bird pricing (40% off!) and bonuses that won’t be available later.
Have a chance to influence the final curriculum—I’ll be asking the waitlist what they’re most stuck on so I can tailor examples, lessons, and resources.
Be the first to hear about start dates, deadlines, and any live Q&A sessions, so you can plan your time and actually finish your film.
Students must have a video camera but most students use their smart phones for this. They need to have a computer that they can edit on. We will be using Adobe Premiere Pro in our examples but any editing software you use will usually do the trick. Finally, it would be great to have a stability tool like a tripod for your video camera and a gimbal to stabilize moving shots, but we have students who make films without.  Also, another great resource is a music service where you can get high quality music that you have permission to use like Artlist io. Â
Our offer is life time access to 8 hours of video classes for $95. Since the class is not available until July 1st, you can sign up now and if you pre-pay,, we'll give you 40% off. Also, if you email Peter at EMAIL ADDRESS you can apply to our scholarship program with 50% off the fee. Â
